[I know, this section just echos the same stuff as on the résumé. I plan to expand later.] Worked with PhDs, staff and university interns researching disruptive technologies. Barco Labs deliverables are research papers, patents and demos. Any research that might become a viable product in 2 to 5 years is then passed off to one of the product divisions. (Due to the trade secret nature of this research some details cannot be revealed.) Accomplishments:
I have been using RESTful paradigm more or less since 2013 when joining the Barco New Experiences division but not as strictly as I probably should. I know clean URLs should be used to specify all queries but I haven't always followed that fully. Sometimes I have used query string parameters out of convenience. I normally try to use the HTTP GET, PUT, POST, OPTION and DELETE requests appropriately but sometimes I've used POST where I should have used PUT (for idempotent operations). Lately, I have been working on applying the RESTful paradigm more strictly. For example, this website now uses RESTful or Clean URLs without resorting to query string parameters.
Experiences using this skill are shown below:
Developed several browser-based video playback and video device management applications. Some examples (in reverse chronological order): [I know, the section below is too wordy. I'll improve later.]
